CAC Warns Against Fake Messages Circulating Online

Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas has issued a public disclaimer over a viral social media flyer claiming that its President, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, would participate in a live debate session with a Kenyan cleric identified as Sheikh Ibrahim Abdullahi.

The controversial flyer, which circulated across several social media platforms, alleged that the debate would take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, by 8:30 p.m. However, the church has firmly denied the claim, describing the information as false, misleading, and unofficial.

In a statement released by the church leadership, CAC clarified that Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele has no plans whatsoever to engage in any debate with Sheikh Abdullahi or any person associated with him, either now or in the future.

The church further explained that Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas does not participate in social media debates under any circumstance. According to the statement, the viral claim was capable of maligning the office and personality of Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, while also bringing unnecessary controversy around the church and the Christian faith.

CAC leadership stressed that the false announcement does not represent the position or activities of the church and should not be treated as an official communication from the ministry.

The church also urged members of the public, especially CAC members worldwide, to disregard the flyer entirely and avoid sharing unverified religious content online. It warned that similar posts could be used by scammers or impersonators to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

The statement serves as a reminder for believers and social media users to verify sensitive announcements through official church communication channels before accepting or distributing them publicly.
