Nigerian Pastor Gets Death Threats After Exposing Killings
A Nigerian pastor says his life is in danger after publicly denouncing a wave of deadly attacks on Christian communities in Plateau State. The Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, regional chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi, revealed that he has received repeated death threats since speaking out.
“My life is in grave danger. Even as I speak, I am on the lookout for attacks. I no longer sleep with both eyes closed,” Dachomo told reporters on October 24. He added that he has previously survived an attempted attack.

His warning came days after a distressing video circulated online. The footage, recorded on October 15, showed Dachomo standing beside a mass grave containing the bodies of at least 12 church members. The victims were reportedly killed in coordinated assaults by suspected extremist Fulani militants in Rachas village, Heipang District, and Rawuru village in Fan District.
Dachomo accused the Nigerian government of downplaying the scale of violence against Christians. He described the ongoing attacks as “genocide” and called for urgent international intervention. In his appeal, he urged the United States specifically the Trump administration and the U.S. Senate as well as the United Nations to step in and help protect vulnerable communities in Plateau State.
The pastor’s plea adds to growing concerns about the escalating violence in Nigeria’s Middle Belt, where Christian farming communities have faced repeated attacks for years.
