C&S Church Honours Oba Elerinmo with Senior Apostleship
The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church has celebrated a significant moment in its history with the ordination of Oba Odunayo Ajayi, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, as a Senior Special Apostle. The atmosphere was filled with joy and reverence as worshippers from across Nigeria and the diaspora gathered to witness the rare recognition of a traditional ruler within the church hierarchy.
The ceremony was led by His Most Eminence Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo, the Supreme Head of the C&S Unification Church Worldwide. Prophet Alogbo described Oba Ajayi as a leader whose life demonstrates humility, dedication, and deep spiritual conviction. He commended the monarch for serving his community with what he called “a royal identity anchored in priestly grace,” highlighting his long-term involvement in humanitarian and spiritual work.
Reflecting on the milestone, Oba Ajayi spoke about his early Christian upbringing in the C&S Church during his childhood at the Sabo/Oko Oba District in Yaba, Lagos. He recalled a prophetic message he received over four decades ago, in which an elderly prophet said he saw him wearing both a royal crown and a bishop’s cap. The prophecy, once confusing to many, now makes sense to him. “Today, that word has found fulfilment,” he said. “God has made me both a king and a Senior Special Apostle. His promises never fail.”

The ordination represents a unique merging of traditional authority and spiritual leadership. It reinforces the king’s responsibility not only as a cultural custodian but also as a spiritual guide committed to leading with godliness, discernment, and compassion.
Under Oba Ajayi’s reign, Erinmo-Ijesa has witnessed improvements in peace, development, and religious devotion. The town hosts the famous Ori-Oke Erinmo, popularly referred to as the “Jerusalem of Africa,” which welcomes thousands of pilgrims every day. His leadership has also championed youth empowerment, moral transformation, and harmonious coexistence among faiths.
Oba Ajayi’s spiritual path is further reflected in his ancestry. His great-grandfather, a respected regional ruler, was known for encouraging unity and welcoming early European visitors to Erinmo. His grandparents were also among the pioneers of CAC Oke Isegun Headquarters, offering their home as a gathering place for worship before the church built its official structure.
