Apostle Iren Recounts Pastor Jerry Eze’s Journey of Grace

Apostle Emmanuel Iren has shared an inspiring story about Pastor Jerry Eze’s humble beginnings, highlighting how God can rewrite any man’s story regardless of his background.

Speaking recently, Apostle Iren recalled a conversation he had with Pastor Eze while they were returning from a condolence visit to the family of the late Dr Uma Ukpai. During their trip, Pastor Eze told him how his journey through school was nothing short of a miracle.

According to Apostle Iren, Pastor Jerry came from a poor home where furthering his education seemed impossible due to financial hardship. At one point, it looked like his only option would be to learn a trade as a mechanic.

However, everything changed when a Christian family approached him with an offer to sponsor his education. They also requested that he stay with them throughout his studies.

When he told his mother about the offer, she was overjoyed, as she had been praying for such help. But her excitement turned to hesitation when she learned her son would have to live with the family. It took persuasion to convince her, as their home environment was not suitable for a young man. Their house was surrounded by vices — nearby smokers, a snooker spot, and a brothel. Eventually, she agreed, allowing him to pursue his education.

Apostle Iren said Pastor Eze’s story deeply moved him. He emphasized that God can lift anyone, no matter where they come from, and give them a voice that reaches the world.

“God can anoint a person who grew up in the village and still give him global presence. If not for yourself, then for the people around you, let God bless you with resources,” Apostle Iren said.
