Faith and Learning Unite in Romania’s New School

A new chapter of faith-based education is unfolding in western Romania. In the heart of Arad, a growing Christian ministry is transforming young lives through a new school that blends academic excellence with biblical principles and English language learning.

A Vision Rooted in Faith and Purpose

Assured Hope Ministries, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the gospel with Romanian youth, has officially launched the Adamant International Centre the first English speaking Christian private school in the region. The school was established in partnership with Refuge for the Soul, another ministry focused on discipleship and community outreach.

For founders Billy and Oana Miller, the school represents the fulfillment of years of prayer, preparation, and persistence. “The Lord has opened many doors for us to provide a life changing educational experience that integrates academic excellence with spiritual growth,” said Billy Miller. “By offering classes in English, we aim to equip students with valuable language skills, while also shaping character and instilling a sense of purpose through Christian values woven into the curriculum.”

Integrating Faith and Learning

The Adamant International Centre follows the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum, a program widely recognized for its individualized learning approach and strong biblical foundation. Students are taught English, reading, writing, mathematics, and science, but every subject is intentionally grounded in Scripture and character formation.

The school’s philosophy is simple but transformative: education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it’s about shaping hearts and minds for God’s purposes. Teachers serve not only as educators but also as mentors who model faith, compassion, and integrity in the classroom.

Addressing Modern Challenges in Education

According to the ministry, Romania’s young people face many of the same struggles seen in schools across the world bullying, peer pressure, drug use, and a growing sense of hopelessness. These challenges, combined with the lingering effects of a secularized education system, often leave students feeling lost and disconnected.

“Public schools are doing their best,” Miller explained, “but many are constrained by a system that overlooks the spiritual needs of students. Our goal is not to compete with them, but to offer an alternative, a place where truth, love, and purpose are part of every lesson.”

From Backpacks to Transformation

Before opening the new school, Assured Hope Ministries had already been active in the community for over eight years, reaching thousands of Romanian children and teenagers through Bible clubs, youth programs, and outreach events. Their mission extended far beyond the classroom.

In recent years, the ministry distributed dozens of backpacks filled with school supplies to children from underprivileged families, a simple act that opened doors for deeper relationships and meaningful conversations about faith.

“These small acts of kindness often lead to life changing encounters,” said Oana Miller. “We’ve seen parents and children alike touched by God’s love through what began as a simple gift of school supplies.”

Early Impact and Community Response

Though the Adamant International Centre opened its doors only last month, the impact has already been tangible. Teachers report noticeable improvements in students’ confidence, behavior, and enthusiasm for learning. Families, too, are beginning to witness the difference.

“Parents have told us that their children come home happier, more respectful, and eager to pray together as a family,” said Billy Miller. “That’s what this is all about, creating ripple effects that extend beyond the school walls.”

Local Christians hope this initiative will spark a broader movement of faith-based education across Romania, a country still healing from decades of communist rule that once suppressed religious expression.

A Growing Hope for the Future

Looking ahead, Assured Hope Ministries plans to expand its educational initiatives to other Romanian cities, while continuing to offer outreach programs and community support. The team believes that education anchored in biblical truth has the power to restore hope and inspire a new generation of leaders rooted in faith.

“Our mission is simple,” Miller concluded. “We want to bring the hope and light of the Gospel into places of darkness. In a world where so many young people are lost, God has called us to be His hands and feet in Romania.”

As the sound of laughter and learning fills the halls of the Adamant International Centre, it stands as more than just a school, it’s a beacon of light, faith, and hope for Romania’s next generation.
