RCCG Youth Province 1 Donates Back-to-School Supplies to Over 2,000 Children
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Youth Province 1, Festac, has given educational support to 2,150 children as part of its annual “Back to School Drive.”
The initiative, which took place simultaneously across all parishes in the province, provided pupils with school bags, notebooks, writing materials, and other essentials to ease the financial strain on parents at the start of the new academic year.
Pastor Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, Pastor-in-Charge of Youth Province 1, said the project was championed by Pastor Martins Olusakin and Pastor Abiodun Famojuro. He described education as a powerful tool for nation-building and personal development, noting that the church’s investment in children was an investment in Nigeria’s future.
“Education empowers children to dream bigger and contribute meaningfully to society. By giving them these supplies, we are removing barriers to learning and securing their tomorrow,” he said.

Parents welcomed the gesture, especially as the rising cost of books and learning materials continues to weigh heavily on families. Many said the support came at a crucial time.
One of the young beneficiaries, 10-year-old David Oye, smiled as he held up his new school bag and mathematical set. “I am happy because I can now go back to school with a new bag, books, and pencils,” he said.
The province leadership pledged to make the Back-to-School Drive an annual program, reaffirming its commitment to child education and community support.
RCCG, one of Nigeria’s largest Pentecostal churches, has a strong track record of social impact projects through its Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, His Love Foundation. The church has invested heavily in education, health care, and empowerment across the country.
In January 2025, the same youth province distributed free UTME forms to indigent students. In June 2024, RCCG Old Pen Cinema Parish donated 14 desktop computers to Vetland Junior Grammar School in Agege to boost digital literacy. That same year, RCCG Lagos Province 109 supported petty traders and vulnerable families through empowerment initiatives.
Beyond education, RCCG Youth Province 1 also eased transport challenges in Lagos last September by offering free bus rides to commuters, a move that indirectly supported parents and schoolchildren struggling with rising transportation costs.
With consistent projects like these, RCCG continues to position itself not only as a place of worship but as a partner in community development and a voice for educational equity in Nigeria.
