BREAKING NEWS: Beloved Gospel movie Actor, known as ‘BABA GBENRO’ in Popular Series ‘Abattoir,’ Passes Away
News about the demise of DR. KOREDE ARE is popularly know as BABA GBENRO has had a strong echo in the heart of many who worked with him within the Ministry-Media circuit, owing to his indefatigable resilience, unassuming humility, and avid attachment to the Lord. Dr. Are was not just an actor; he was a servant on a mission to help bring people to Christ through storytelling and drama.
During his tribute, Mike Bamiloye captured a rather beautiful expression of Dr. Are’s life and likened his death to a “closing time” after a day’s work in the office. Dr. Are’s earthly journey in this “Vineyard” was one of relentless work and commitment. To the creative ministry, it is a reminder that even though we are all working on different projects, the end of our worldly labors is only known by the Master we serve, and you and I one day will be called to rest.
Dr. Are’s work in film, most notably in Christian dramas such as Abejoye and Abattoir, showed his passion for telling stories that pleased a wide range of age groups.
In these productions, he was not just acting, but he was into portraying characters that call for faith even as spiritual truth would be unfolded. And he did it with a heart ready to serve, often putting others’ needs before his own, even as his own journey was nearing its end.
His last days were on location, lost in his work, without knowing that this was his final project. The demise of Dr. Are reminds us that we cannot predict when we finish our journey; rather, the comfort is not in knowing this truth but in the little contributions each one of us makes, which form part of a bigger story.
For those who knew him, Dr. Are’s legacy is more than a blessing: he left behind him a trail of faith and devotion, the epitome of a life that had truly been spent in service to Christ. His story of challenge needs to be made as we remember him, to be faithful to our callings until we, too, hear the words, “It is closing time.”. God has not lost Dr. Korede Are; He has really won a committed soul who worked under humility for a purpose. He may no longer be seen with us in film locations or some ministry projects, but his legacy lives through the thousands of lives transformed by his sustainable work. Indeed he has gone home to rest; for surely his labor was complete, and now his soul rejoices in the eternal presence of his Master.
